Help answer the question about Php Scripts
Is PHP safe in regargs to people downloading your scripts?Just a security question here, Is it possible for people to download your uncompiled PHP scripts and view the code. I only ask because I recently did a web development project whre I stored the password to an admin page inside of the PHP script. Is this safe, if not, how would I go about doing this short of saving it in a database.

The best way to learn any new language is to have a necessary project. If you need to invent one do it, but follow your requirements through… the devil is in the details.
I don't usually simply post a URL, because I think thats lame, but in your case, I seriously DO recommend the tutorial on:
http://www.php.net/
It should get you started right away
You will need to install PHP, and Apache, and I would suggest either HTML-KIT for light-weight development, or ZEND for heavy
good stuff. really clear!
Thanks.
Stef
Is good for a beginner like me, nice tutorial and thank you very much.
You can upload the scripts anywhere, there is no special location for PHP scripts. Just upload them and they should run.
Ah … depends on the person watching. Some think it’s great, others don’t.
Hello man, i had a project on Drupal platform, and i can say you, that its just a S..T, we rewrited all the code for getting what we need, there are lots of bed writed code, so its working really slow on lot of requests.
I suggest you to try learning PHP from frameworks like CodeIgnitor or Cake. So Cake is really powerfull and Ignitor is very fast and lightweight. Chose what you need for your project.
Thanks.
Glad you liked it.
Thanks,
Stef
